Family and Friends Frequently Asked Questions

• Question: How does my physical mail get delivered?
               • Answer: The facility has turned on mail scanning which means you need to address your mail to a new address. The mail gets                                           scanned and converted to an electronic document that can be read for free by your incarcerated loved one using a tablet                                   that is available in their pod. You must clearly write the booking number since it is read electronically read and you                                           must put ‘BN#’ in front of the booking number. If the booking number is not included and is not clearly written, then it                                     will not be delivered.

• Question: Will pictures be scanned?
                • Answer: Yes, pictures will be scanned if there are no nudity or inappropriate photos

• Question: Does it cost the inmate anything to read my mail?
               • Answer: No, there is no cost to the inmate to read from the tablet

• Question: What happens to the physical copy of the mail?
               • Answer: The physical copy of the mail is destroyed but the inmate will be able to see the electronic version of the mail for the                                          duration of his/her incarceration.

• Question: How long does it take to get delivered?
               • Answer: It depends mainly on how long it takes for the mail to get delivered to the P.O. Box, but once received at the P.O. Box the                                  mail can be delivered in 1-3 business days.

• Question: What happens if I do not put the booking number on the front of the mail.
               • Answer: It will not be delivered.

• Question: How does the physical mail get delivered?
               • Answer: The friend and family will have to address mail to a new address and include a clearly written booking number. The                                          physical mail is scanned and assigned to a booking number. ViaPath command will then pull in the scans and will deliver                                  the mail automatically if the auto delivery is turned on at the facility or if auto-approve is turned off then the staff needs                                    to approve each scan.
